The application of flame hardening is unlimited.  Production problems and wear problems on gears, sprockets, cams, crane wheels, mill rolls and similar components can be solved with surface flame hardening.  For example, only flame hardening the teeth of gears dramatically extends the life and wear of the part without a substantial cost increase.  This also allows the part to be machined after heat treatment.

Flame hardening is utilized typically for the following components and parts, from 1 ounce to over 6 to 8 tons:
  • Gears (up to 10 feet in diameter)
  • All Industrial Sprockets (1 to 1000lbs+)
  • Shafts (1 inch to 16 inches in diameter / 1 foot to 10 feet long)
  • Oil Tools and Mining Equipment
  • Wheels, Tubes,  Bushings, Extruder Screws, Rollers and more are all items that can benefit from flame surface hardening
